Is Fiji cheaper than Bora Bora?
Fiji gives you several ways to reduce spending by changing the region, room type or number of island transfers. Tourism Fiji's accommodation guide includes dorms, homestays, family resorts and luxury villas. A simple mainland stay and a private island resort will produce very different totals.

Staying on the main island can change your dining and transport choices compared with staying on a separate motu, or small islet. There is no reliable fixed percentage by which one destination is always cheaper.
Compare the complete stay
Ask for quotes for the same dates, number of guests and number of nights. Compare similar room categories and cancellation terms, then add the costs outside the room rate. A five-night stay with meals and transfers included can cost less overall than a lower nightly rate with those charges added separately.
- Accommodation: the full room total, taxes and any compulsory charges.
- Travel: international flights, domestic flights, road or boat transfers and any connection-night hotel.
- Meals: which meals are included, whether a meal plan is compulsory, and drinks or dining supplements.
- Activities: the outings you actually want, plus equipment rental when it is separate.
- Booking conditions: deposits, amendment costs and cancellation deadlines.
Record each quote's currency before converting both totals on the same day. Flights and transfers: compare arrival at the hotel
Most leisure itineraries for western Fiji start at Nadi International Airport (NAN). A flight to Nadi still leaves the road, boat or domestic flight connection to your accommodation.

Air Tahiti's passenger FAQ says its airport boat shuttle to Vaitape is included for its passengers. A resort's private airport boat is a different arrangement, so confirm whether it is included in your accommodation quote. Also check domestic baggage allowances against the international ticket.
Compare the time from your home airport to your hotel, including immigration, baggage collection, check-in deadlines and connection waits.
